If you are looking for comprehensive information on mining projects, companies, or related organisations, your search should begin at the Motherlode. This is a free online database co-developed by the Mineral Policy Institute, still in development, but available soon.
Specialist groups campaigning on mining issues
  • Project Underground
    Could be described (unofficially) as a "sister" organisation to MPI! Project Underground is based in Berkeley, USA and is an environmental and human rights organization that supports communities facing mining, oil and gas activities.
  • Environmental Mining Council of BC
    EMCBC is based in Canada, and has a special focus on protecting the ecology of British Columbia and the Yukon from the impacts of mining. EMCBC also works on international mining campaigns, particularly involving Canadian mining companies.
  • Sustainable Energy and Anti-Uranium Service
    A fantastic source of info on uranium mining, particularly in Australia. SEA-US promotes and publishes info on safe and sustainable energy production, a nuclear free world and anti-uranium mining issues.
  • Mineral Policy Center
    Based in Washington, USA, MPC has focussed on efforts to reform USA government mining law but also supports communities and serves as an mining information resource center.

  • Minewatch and Partizans
    Based in London, Minewatch and Partizans campaign on international mining issues, and have a particular focus on the British/Australian mining company Rio Tinto.
